Fashion Pieces That Are Getting Me Excited For Summer 2023!

I am 110% ready for summer and warmer weather! With spring slowly gaining momentum, I have felt very inspired to do some online shopping for new spring/summer 2023 pieces. Because I wear gym clothes all day at work, I like to get dressed up whenever I get the chance. And the warmer it gets, the more feminine my style becomes. I like to wear dresses all year round, but summer is when the gorgeously flowy ones come out! Not only are they super comfortable, you also don’t have to worry about putting together an outfit as such. Throw on a dress & you’re good to go!

Summer Essentials: Floaty Dresses

Black Linen

This dress from H&M comes back year after year – for a reason. I have already purchased this one, and also have a beautiful blue & white floral pattern one from 2 years ago. This years version doesn’t have any buttons (as they used to), which actually makes it easier to wear in my opinion. I also feel like this years version runs bigger than the previous ones – so go down a size! A black dress in summer is a bit unusual for make actually, but I thought it would be lovely for a relaxed night out, BBQ, etc. And since it’s a linen blend, it’s super comfortable to wear even on a hot day.

Floral Midi & Maxi Summer Dresses

If it’s neither black nor white, I LOVE floral dresses. What a revelation when it comes to spring and summer dresses, I know. But there’s a reason they are basically everywhere: because they’re so damn gorgeous. And suit basically anybody who wants to wear them! This one by Abercrombie & Fitch is a great option, as it’s not only got a beautiful floral print but also some colorful butterflies in between. If you prefer midi dresses, this blue & white floral one by &otherstories is another amazing option.

Floral Minis

I love a good maxi or midaxi dress, but appreciate that not everybody is like that. And to be sure, I love mini dresses just as much. Because I basically love all dresses. Period. And this lovely floral number, once again by Abercrombie & Fitch, is no exception! It can be worn both on and off the shoulder. Which one do you prefer?

Beach Cover-Ups

This super cute beach cover-up is also from H&M. And just like the dress before, this one runs big (I got a size XS/S). This one is going to a great option to grow on when you’re heading to the beach or pool. It’s got some beautiful Broderie Anglaise – but there’s not layer underneath, so you can see right through. Great for the beach, not so much for everyday wear. I love it regardless.

Summer Essentials: Whites, Whites, Whites

White Jumpsuit

If I’m not wearing I dress, I’m probably wearing a jumpsuit. Because It’s basically like a dress in the way that you don’t have to match a top to a bottom. But you get the security of actual pants. I once had my very own Marilyn Monroe-Dress-Flying-Up-Moment in Hamburg. How I wished I had worn something like this beautiful jumpsuit!

Linen Shorts

If you haven’t noticed, there are two things I love in summer: white & linen. And this pair of shorts from Abercrombie & Fitch ticks both of those boxes! They are just super versatile, can be dressed up or down. I love tucking in a cotton or linen shirt, maybe throwing in a tan belt + matching accessories, and you’re good to go!

Bubble Strap Top

I promise this is the last white fashion piece I’m going to put on this list (not in my basket though, it’s likely going to be overflowing with whites at this point)! Another thing I love for summer is culottes, because they are both comfy and fashionable at the same time. But putting a basic tank top with it can sometimes look a bit boring. So bring on this little number and spice it up a little!

Espadrilles

These two pairs of espadrilles are actually what inspired this blogpost (shop here: cream / black). They don’t need much of an explanation. Super easy to wear, surprisingly comfortable, and obviously super cute. Doesn’t get much better.

White Sneakers

I know I said I wouldn’t do anymore white fashion pieces, but this isn’t a white clothing item, alright? It can be, however, a bit of a controversial one. I personally love these sneakers with dresses, but I know not everybody does. That’s the beauty of style and taste, it’s as individual as the person wearing it.

Summer Essentials: Accessories

Handbags

Once again with summer handbags, there is a pattern showing: it’s either canvas or straw/rattan. I just love the natural feel of these materials for spring & summer. While this canvas & leather bag by &otherstories feels a bit more formal, the straw & the basket bag just go with every (floral) summer dress.

Beach bag

… I told you there was a pattern. I had a similar one to this beach bag last year. Unfortunately, it wasn’t woven like this one, but somehow braided and then sown together. Long story short, the stitching didn’t last very long. So I’m making sure I’m going to get myself one of these totes this year! They are amazing for a day at the beach (or pool), as they fit all your stuff and then some.
