Wowsers, what a month it has been! I know I have said this for every single monthly favorite I’ve done on here, but this one was seriously jam-packed with the most exciting things! I don’t think there was a single weekend where I didn’t have something going on (and planed months in advance), which is rather rare for my introverted little self. But I’m not here to complain, as each and every single one of those events was great! So let me tell you all about my April favorites…
April Favorites: Beauty
Starting off my April favorites with the beauty category, as always. I bought a couple of new beauty bits in the duty free shops of the Majorcan airport at the end of last month, which I absolutely loved!
Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules
I’ve had these capsules before (bought in the duty free shop of some other airport as well), and when I saw they were on special offer I snatched them up again. They are very pricy, but boy do they make my skin feel great! I can really tell a huge difference in the morning after using them the night before. It’s super moisturized and SO SOFT, heavenly (if I do say so myself). So highly recommend!
Caudalie Vinosource-Hydra SOS Serum
This serum I hadn’t tried before, but heard I lot of people I follow in social media talk about it. So I finally decided to give it a try myself. And I can confirm: it really is a lovely serum to put on first thing in the morning! I love the ultra lightweight consistency of it, and it does keep my face nice and hydrated all day. Plus you really don’t need a lot of it, 1 pump is enough for my entire face. Highly recommend!
Kérastase Bain Divalent Spécique Shampoo
My next April favorite, and the last thing I picked up at the airport, was this shampoo. I have yet to use a product by Kérastase that I don’t absolutely love, so it’s not surprising to find it in here. This one was recommended to me by my hairdresser the last time I went there, but they didn’t have it in stock. So naturally I forgot about it, until I saw it in Mallorca. And it was on sale as well – clearly the universe was trying to give me a sign. And a great sign it was, as this shampoo makes my hair sooo soft and shiny! Highly recommend for anybody that like me has greasy roots, but dry lengths.
April Favorites: Fashion
The changing seasons always really inspire me when it comes to shopping and getting new clothes. So I went online and found so many lovely pieces! I even did an entire blogpost about it, which you can check out here. Even though it’s still too cold for actual summer dresses, here are some bits that I loved to wear this April:
Kaffe Dress
I wore this dress on multiple occasions though out the month, Easter Sunday being one of them. Needless to say that I ate A LOT of food that day, and this dress is absolutely perfect for that. Loose fitting and super flowy, the ideal dress to hide little food babies. And super comfortable as well! I usually can’t stand having tight necklines, but this one doesn’t bother me as it’s nice and stretchy. Hurry to get it, it’s currently on sale here!
A&F Bubble Strap Top
I have already featured this top in the aforementioned blogpost, but as I loved wearing it this April, I had to mention it again. Fun straps, nicely fitted around the bust and waist, perfect for my more feminine Spring/Summer style. So if you haven’t got it already – what are you waiting for?
April Favorites: Podcasts
I have a tonne of podcasts that I would love to share this month, so let’s get into them!
5 Minuten Harry Podcast #27 – Schachmatt
The 5 Minute Harry Podcast by Coldmirror is hands down my favorite podcast ever. It is in German – so sorry to any Non-German-Speakers. But to everybody else: If you only take away one recommendation out of this whole blogpost, make it this one! If you’re a similar age to me, you probably know the Harry Potter parodies Coldmirror used to do on Youtube back in the day. I loved watching those back then, and love listening to her podcast now. Unfortunately for me, it takes her forever to produce the episodes, so they only come out every few months. But when you listen to them, you know why it takes her so long. There’s so much love for detail, so much research to be done, no wonder it takes her that long. So go give it a listen, but make sure to start at the beginning!
ZOE Science & Nutrition – Protein: Are you getting enough?
If you’re into health & fitness like me, you have probably wondered at some point if you’re getting enough protein. Or you have an entire shelf full of protein powders, BCAA’s or EAA’s (#iykyk). This episode of the ZOE podcast talks all about how much protein you actually need – and it is likely far less than you think. Definitely worth a listen before you go out and buy some expensive supplements you might not even need…
Working Hard, Hardly Working by Grace Beverley
Last but not least I discovered this podcast in April. I had known about it for a while, but for some reason never gave it a listen. But when I saw that Grace had done an episode with Sarahs Day, someone who I used to follow religiously for fitness tips back when I still used to do that, I jumped on it. And then found she had a whole lot of other interesting guests/topics. So highly recommend you give it a go!
April Favorites: All of the Events
As I’ve said in the beginning of this post, April was a crazy busy month for me. There were so many things going on, it would have done for 3 months (for me at least). So lets get into the best moments of this month!
- My boyfriend and I competed at the Deutschland Showdown in Saarbrücken! I told you a while ago that we had qualified – although barely. I think we placed 4-5 places above the cut-off, meaning around 95th place. But I’m proud to say that we were probably the Most Improved Players of our division, because we ended up placing 24th! And regardless of the standings it was just a fantastic experience and such a fun weekend (check out the video down below!)
- The weekend after that the TeamCup of our CrossFit box took place. I didn’t participate, but went to watch and cheer for everybody. And once again it was just such a fun time, I just love this place’s and the people’s energy!
- Last but not least I went to the live show of one of my favorite podcasts – Weird Crimes. Keep your eyes peeled, they might release the show on Spotify!
& that’s that
Needless to say, I loved April 2023. Now really excited for what next months going to bring! For now, thank you so much for reading. And as always let me know your months favorites & if you try any of the things I mentioned in this post.
Lots of Love,
Lena
