Bringing The British Countryside Back Home To Germany

I have said time and time again on this blog how much I love the UK! But just in case you’ve missed it, you can read all about my amazing trip to London, the Cotswolds & Edinburgh last year. Recently, I have been back to London (my absolute favorite city in the world) for a few days. There’s nothing I don’t love about the British way of living – but what I find most exciting is their way of dressing. True heritage British clothing is just right up my street! So naturally, I brought a couple of very authentically British clothing items back home with me. And let me just tell you: they are perfect for (countryside) dog walks!

The outfit in question:

Simple white button down shirt

Black leggings

The dreamiest Barbour rollneck jumper

Barbour wellies – crucial for muddy dog walks & sooo comfortable!

Marc Jacobs Saddle Bag (similar one linked here)

Just in case you couldn’t tell: Barbour is quickly advancing to one of my favorite British brands when it comes to comfortable, practical, yet cozy & even stylish clothing. Next on my wishlist is one of their wax jackets – let me know what you think of those! They are a quintessentially British clothing item for sure – but do they fit into the German countryside as well? And even if they don’t, should I care?

I actually tried one on in the Selfridges in London. Sadly, though, it was too big on me. What’s most depressing is that I can’t find it anywhere – not in any of the actual Barbour stores, nor online. Haven’t stopped thinking of it since…

Even without the jacket, I was really nice and warm – although it was only around 10 °C and rather windy. But since the jumper is made from 80 % sheep’s wool, bracing the cold was not an issue!
